- There are people in the world that have bought into AI so much that they’ve become a cult. These people are fucking crazy and you need to be aware of what they’re thinking because, it turns out, these people include the “tech bros” of Silicon Valley and that includes President Musk. They are dangerous and if we don’t understand them, we can’t defeat them.
- Summary: They believe that if they build bigger LLMs, the machines will magically come to life. The AIs will be beyond super-human inteligent and will be undefeatable in business, warfare, and everything else. As a result, the first company to achieve this will within days rule the world: break into every military system and take over their armies, hack every bank and own the world’s fortunes, take over every government institution in every country. They believe this is the arms race to win. Not Russia vs. USA trying to build better nukes or get to the moon first… for the first time it will be Amazon, Google, OpenAI, or Alibaba that will rule the world.

- This website explains what Generative AI system (ChatGPT, etc.) actually are. Once you understand this, you know what the limits and dangers are.
- Summary: You know how when you txt a friend your phone suggests potential next words? For example if you type “I have to feed my pet” it knows that statistically speaking the next word is probably “dog” or “cat” or maybe “fish”, but a lot less likely “parrot” and very unlikely “chair”. Well, ChatGPT is the same thing but instead of predicting words, it predicts sentences, paragraphs, or entire documents. That’s it. It isn’t aware of what it is doing. It isn’t alive. It isn’t thinking. It’s just statistics. It can’t run a business or government or replace your CEO. It is autocomplete. That’s it.
